If I take the classes long distance, could I still receive college credit for them?
Of course! These are full-fledged U of I courses, and the credit is transferable to almost any university or college. For more information, see our Transcript/Credit page and/or contact your university or college's office of admissions.

How do I get a transcript?

Please go to the Office of Admissions and Records transcript request page.. Students may have to send in written transcript requests. If you have questions, you can e-mail the Office of Admissions and Records at transcripts@uiuc.edu .

Yes.

Do I ever have to come to campus?
No. Our students are welcome to visit our campus, but they are never required to physically be on campus.

What does the enrollment/registration process require? Do I need to be admitted as a U of I student? Do I have to be an alumnus of the University?
No, you do not need to be a student at the U of I nor an alumnus of the University to enroll in NetMath. For more information on what you need to enroll, visit our Who Qualifies? page.

I'm in high school and my school doesn't offer calculus. I'd like to take it through your program, but will the credit transfer to the college or university I will attend next year?
Yes, the credit will transfer, if your college will accept transfer credit from the University of Illinois, but you need to alert the office of admissions at that university or college of your credit. Also, you will need to contact the U of I's Office of Admissions and Records. See our Transcript/Credit page for more information.

When can I start a class?
Students can start a class at anytime. Once a student starts, they have 16 weeks to complete the course and can purchase up to three one-month extensions. High school students are allowed 9 months to complete their courses.

Highschool students have 9 months to complete their course. Other students have 16 weeks with the possibility of up to three 1-month extensions.

All of our courses are offered every semester

Do I have to already be familiar with Mathematica to take one of these courses?
No. Most students have no experience with Mathematica prior to enrolling in a C&M course. We take special care to familiarize you with what you need to know to use the tool. Experience shows that the software "fades into the background" after a couple of weeks for most students.

How do I take tests?
Students have the option of taking their exams on the University of Illinois campus or with a proctor who is local to the student. Proctor guidelines may be found at http://netmath.uiuc.edu/testingproctors.php.

Is the NetMath program fully accredited?
Yes. NetMath is offered through the University of Illinois, a major fully accredited American University. http://www.provost.uiuc.edu/provost/accred.html

Do these courses transfer to other universities?
They transfer to any university that accepts transfer credit. Note that some universities, such as Harvard and Duke, do not accept transferred credit, but in many cases do give placement. Also note that some programs will only allow up to 12 credit hours to be transferred. Check with the university to which you wish to transfer credit.
